The beautiful fall colors are here!!!!
Would you like to absorb the beauty of Mount Rainier National Park in all its fall splendor before the snow arrives?
Carbon Countrys Shady Rest is the perfect destination. Maple trees, alder trees, evergreens and many more provide distinct gorgeous colors. We have been experiencing warm days in the mid to high sixties and cool autumn nights in the mid to high fifties. Perfect weather for exploring, hiking, mushroom picking, horseback riding, mountain bike riding or even just relaxing in front of a warm fire with a good book and a glass of local cider or wine.
This area also provides some extra special fall activities such as pumpkin patches, corn mazes, monster truck rides, haunted houses and the ever popular Maris Farms Haunted Woods. Why not create a weekend adventure, visiting one of these many local attractions and then add an overnight stay followed by a homemade breakfast.
Soak in the two person jetted tub featured in the John Wayne Suite or relax under the spray of our custom waterfall shower in the garden room. Our endless hot water will provide rest, relaxation and a feeling of revitalization to maybe take on one of the many hiking or mountain biking trails in the area. Did you know the Carbon Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park is the only entrance which is accessible year round? A paved road leads to this hiking and mountain biking entrance at only 1700 ft. above sea level which is very seldom if ever limited by snow accumulation. This area also features one of the only lowland temperate rain forests and boasts some of the largest evergreen trees in the park. A short hike just inside is home to an old mine trail providing historians and explorers an exciting and mysterious adventure. If getting outside and enjoying is on your agenda come visit us and let us share this unique and fascinating area of Washington State.
